STAIRLIFT

Dear colleagues,
Doninu (Malta) International has received a full stair lift (ta’ sular) donated by a benefactor. We wish to donate it—free of charge—to a person with disability who truly needs it.

If going to a private individual, we ask for a simple signed agreement to ensure it’s not resold.
If going to an NGO or government body, no agreement needed, but confirmation of use is appreciated.

Sample agreement: https://doninu.eu/?page_id=1434

Please let us know if you know someone in need, and feel free to forward this message to others in the disability sector.

Thanks for your support
Doninu (Malta) International

To the Maltese and Gozitan People, to Our Friends, and to All Those Who Hold the Vulnerable Close to Their Hearts,

On behalf of Doninu (Malta) International, I would like to express my deepest and most sincere gratitude. Words are not enough to thank the Maltese and Gozitan people for the trust you continue to place in us.

Every time we reached out — whether to individuals, businesses, or public authorities — you responded not only with immediate generosity, but often by offering help beyond what was requested. This spirit of solidarity is what strengthens our mission and gives us the courage to keep moving forward.

Today, I especially wish to thank the CEOs of various government entities who, regardless of the hour, take our calls and roll up their sleeves to help us support those most in need. With them, I also extend heartfelt thanks to ministers and members of parliament from both sides of the political spectrum who continue to support just and noble causes without hesitation.

A special thanks also goes to the commercial entities who, as soon as we make a need known, do not hesitate to step in and donate exactly what is required for a family going through a difficult time.

This is Doninu. I may be the one coordinating the work, but the real impact comes from each and every one of you — especially our dedicated volunteers who continue to serve with heart, humility, and unwavering dedication.

To those entities or individuals who work against us — or more precisely, work against the vulnerable — we thank you as well. Your actions only strengthen our resolve and make it clearer that we are on the right path. Without our intervention and exposure of wrongdoing, funds and resources meant for the vulnerable would continue to end up in the wrong hands. Thank you for confirming why our work is needed, even when our reports and evidence go unanswered.

Finally, I extend my profound gratitude to the families and loved ones of our team members — for their patience, understanding, and sacrifice. This mission requires long hours and difficult choices, and often, our own families are the ones who quietly support us from behind the scenes so that we may serve others.

From the bottom of my heart: thank you for believing in the mission. Thank you for being Doninu with us.

With respect and gratitude,

Pierre

Congratulations on Malta’s Presidency of the Council of Europe

Message of Congratulations on Malta’s Presidency of the Council of Europe

A short while ago, Malta officially assumed the Presidency of the Council of Europe for the upcoming six months.

From the bottom of our hearts, we wish to extend our sincere congratulations to the Government of Malta, and in particular to the Honourable Deputy Prime Minister, Dr Ian Borg, who will be leading this important mandate.

We firmly hope that this Presidency will serve the common good of our country, and we believe that no one should be allowed to tarnish Malta’s name. We remain confident that our nation stands firm in its values—especially in recognising the invaluable work of Maltese voluntary groups, who serve with dedication to support the most vulnerable in our society.

Once again, we say heartfelt congratulations, and we express our best wishes for a fruitful and prosperous term over the next six months—for the benefit of all.

Appeal for Solidarity with the Mission

Appeal for Solidarity with the Mission of Fr. Abiyot Desalegn in Gambella, Ethiopia

Fr. Abiyot Desalegn is a Catholic priest and missionary who leads numerous missionary communities in the Gambella region of Ethiopia. He is deeply committed to supporting orphaned children and families living in extreme poverty.

The main issue is not the lack of clothing for these children — the crisis runs much deeper. The most urgent and pressing need is food. Many of these children fall ill simply due to malnutrition. In countries where governments neglect the basic needs of their people, hunger is a daily reality. In response, Fr. Abiyot is making a heartfelt appeal: even the smallest contribution from each of us can help these children receive the nourishment they need to survive.

Fr. Abiyot has invited Doninu (Malta) International to collaborate with him on a joint project to support these vulnerable children through direct assistance and sustainable outreach.

How You Can Help Directly:

Anyone who wishes to support this mission financially can do so through the following direct bank details:

Beneficiary Name: Fr. Abiyot Desalegn Kejela
Diocese: Apostolic Vicariate of Gambella
Address: P.O. Box 210
Account Number: 1000293963065
Bank Name: Commercial Bank of Ethiopia
Branch: Openo
Location: Gambella Region, Gambella Town, Kebele 04
Phone: +251 913 986 181

Your support, no matter how small, can make a real difference in the lives of these children. Let us unite in compassion to bring food, dignity, and hope where it is most needed.

Help a Young Maltese Teenager Fighting for His Life

PRESS RELEASE

A Call for Prayers and Support: Help a Young Maltese Teenager Fighting for His Life

Dear Maltese and Gozitan people, and all those with a compassionate heart,

We are reaching out with an urgent and heartfelt appeal.

A young Maltese teenager has been receiving treatment at Birmingham Children’s Hospital in the UK for the past seven months. He initially underwent a critical spinal operation, but serious complications followed. Tragically, his left lung collapsed, and he had to undergo emergency surgery. He is now in a coma, relying on life support as his body continues a fierce battle for survival.

His mother has remained by his side throughout, but the emotional and financial burden of being abroad for so long has become unsustainable. She needs our help—now more than ever.

We are calling for your prayers for this brave young boy’s recovery and for your kind support to help his family through this unimaginable ordeal.

Let us unite in solidarity and compassion. Every donation, no matter how small, can make a real difference.

To donate directly to the family:

  • Revolut: +356 9990 1078
  • BOV Mobile App: +356 9990 1078

Let us lift this family with our love, our prayers, and our action. Together, we can bring hope where it is most needed.

Thank you, and may God bless you all.
